Philippe Boivin has been INO’s Vice-President, Corporate Affairs since December 2009. Responsible for legal affairs, he is also in charge of the protection and management of intellectual property (IP) and technology transfer negotiations. He is also the head of the communication department and the Quality assurance department, and he serves as the company’s Secretary, and Security Officer.
Before joining INO, Mr. Boivin was a partner with McCarthy Tétrault where he practised for 15 years mainly in the field of IP and technology law, and the acquisition and financing of technological companies. He was also a trademark agent.
During his career, he gave several lectures and published various articles on IP and technology law. He has been a lecturer on IP at Laval University. He was also an officer and director of a number of companies. He is currently director of Theatre Niveau Parking, the Chair of the LES Quebec Chapter and he sits on the advisory committee for the protection of inventions of Laval University and he is also on the advisory board for Tech Transfer of Axelys.
Mr. Boivin received a Bachelor’s degree from the Law Faculty of Université Laval in 1994, and was admitted to the Quebec Bar in 1995. He also completed a certificate in corporate governance.
