Phil Datlow

Philip Datlow is a Senior IP Counsel at Boehringer Ingelheim located in Ridgefield, Connecticut.  In his 23 years as IP counsel for Boehringer, Phil has drafted and prosecuted patent applications and strategically managed patent portfolios in a number of therapeutic areas within BI; conducted patentability and freedom to operate assessments; counselled on US copyright and export compliance issues; performed IP due diligence reviews and provided a wide range of licensing and agreement support including negotiation of IP provisions for product and technology in- and out-licensing with other companies, academic partners and public institutions and developed best practices for negotiation of IP provisions in agreements.
