Kayla Meisner is the Executive Director of Kentucky Commercialization Ventures (KCV), an initiative of Kentucky Science & Technology Corporation (KSTC). In her role, she leads efforts to grow the statewide innovation ecosystem through technology transfer from our regional and rural universities and community & technical college institutions. Meisner provides oversight of all KCV programs that aim to translate Kentucky ideas into impactful intellectual property, establish inclusive innovation practices, fund and support opportunities for early-stage research and development, and expand the Kentucky entrepreneurial ecosystem. She is highly motivated by this opportunity to build a sustainable commercialization-drive network for the success of Kentucky and our greater region.
Meisner holds an adjunct professorship within the University of Kentucky’s Gatton College of Business and Economics where she teaches entrepreneurship. Additionally, she volunteers her time as a board member of two Louisville companies in her role as the Vice President of Venture Connectors and the Secretary of Queer Kentucky. She also serves the AUTM (Association of University Technology Managers) community as a member of the Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion (EDI) Special Interest Group.
Meisner obtained a Bachelors in Science (Bioengineering) and Masters in Engineering from the University of Louisville.
