Eggerton began his technology transfer career with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), where he worked for a decade, first as a Biotechnology Patent Examiner and then later as a Primary Patent Examiner. During his tenure at the USPTO he allowed over 400 patents (mainly biotechnology/molecular biology and bioinformatics technologies).
He is a Patent Agent registered to practice before the USPTO and he has extensive private sector experience preparing and prosecuting patent applications in a wide variety of biotechnology arts.
Dr. Campbell currently holds a position at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as a Senior Patent and License Manager in the National Human Genome Research Institute (NHGRI).
